Youth Strategic Participation

The main goal of this programme is to encourage young people in implementing, designing and planning youth-led initiatives, which in turn would enhance their active participation at the local governorate level. The program runs in Madaba, Maa’an and Karak. PBYRC aims to expand this programme to other governorates across the Kingdom, based on lessons learnt and local needs. At the onset of the project PBYRC meets with young people between the ages of 15-25 in their local communities, to visualize and understand their areas through their eyes. This process helps better plan the project and identify young peopels’ needs and priorities. The next stage is to map the services available for young people in the area, and determine the access they have to such resources.

Based on the findings of the data collection phase, the project is therefore divided into three phases of action. First, selection process of core group of young people, through interviews and dialogue. Second, capacity building of the volunteers in areas they select as priorities.

Based on experience in the three governorates, these could include

Basic Life Skills.
Youth and Participation.
Youth Led Initiatives.
Gender and Rights.
Communication, Negotiation and Advocacy.
Media and Creativity training.
