Reactivating the roles of the parent teacher
association at schools
In collaboration with Ministry of Education and Counterpart International,
ZENID implemented “Strengthening Parent Teacher Associations
(PTA) programme in Aqaba.
The program aimed to strengthen the role of the PTA’s in 5
schools in Aqaba, through fostering better relationships between
parents and their children’s schools. In addition to creating
a partnership that provides an enabling platform for communication
and dialogue between parents, teachers and students.
The PTA in Aqaba is now activated by
its members, whereby they have already conducted awareness raising
activities for other parents, visited PTA's in other governorates
and they are in the process of organising a community event which
enhances the participation of the whole community with the schools.
Due to the emerging needs of activating the role of PTA’s
across the Kingdom, ZENID produced a guidebook that outlines the
process of establishing and activating the PTA’s. In addition
to a film that documents the process of this project and enables
the replication of it to other areas.
