RAISING WOMEN’S VOICE IN POLICY AND PLANNING FORUMS IN JERASH, MADABA AND MUTA’A / KARAK

Implemented in cooperation with the EC, the project aims to provide a platform for women rights advocates and
policy / decision makers to engage in national and local dialogue.

The purpose of the dialogue is to encourage duty bearing institutions to recognize and respond more efficiently to their obligations in ensuring the rights of all citizens to access and enjoy essential services (e.g. cash assistance, health insurance and health care, environmental services, quality education, shelter, safety & security, justice etc) as well as the right to access their fundamental human rights (e.g. freedom from domestic violence, right to own and inherit property, rights to nationality, right to freedom of expression and association, right of mobility).

ZENID’S ROLE

To build the capacity of stakeholders who play a role in promoting women's rights at the local level. The stakeholders include women’s groups, CBOs, service providers and municipalities; both officers and staff. This will be achieved mainly through the delivery of short training programs, mentoring and guidance with a focus on building knowledge, understanding and skills.
