Rat Eradication Campaign - Merad / Jerash

For years, the uncontrollable spread of rats has been one of the biggest concerns of Al Merad area in Jerash. The rats were a health hazard for the whole community. MAKANA team in Jerash launched a campaign, met with decision makers and gained their support as well as the support of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM). GAM provided them with suitable material; clothing and rat poison to be distributed to members of the community.

Contaminated water pool affects the health of people in the local community- Mu’ta / Karak

MAKANA team in Karak worked with residents of Mu’ta to determine their priority needs, and discovered the contamination of a water pool in the middle of a residential area that caused offensive odors, sogginess and health hazards for the people of Mu’ta. MAKANA team gathered names in a petition and presented the case to the mayor. As a result, the municipality, Jordan Valley Authority and the Civil Defense Directorate all provided their support and have submitted a proposal to transform the area into a public park.
