Community Youth Mapping

Public private partnerships are one of the key focus areas of the Reform process in Jordan. In line with the Education Reform for a Knowledge Economy (ERfKE), PBYRC in partnership with Academy for Educational Development (AED) and USAID ERfKE Support Project are implementing a project that encourages schools to career.

PBYRC works with groups of young people in the South, North and middle regions on Community Youth Mapping (CYM). CYM is an innovative and youth friendly technique in which youth can help identify and document services in a peer to peer approach in their respective communities. This technique will aim to raise awareness of what is available and accessible to youth and identifies the support of the private sector in providing young people with internships.

The youth will utilize various research approaches, and will be able to identify the companies in their areas as well as existing services for youth. The CYM works closely with the Ministry of Education including teachers and students in order to ensure sustainability in the long run and ownership.
