ZENID’s Role

ZENID aims to bridge the gap between employers, industrial city management and the workers, through creating linkages between young people seeking employment, the recent graduates from vocational institutes and the industrial cities. This is to be accomplished through the establishment of the Youth Employability Centre in Sahab CDC. This will enhance networking and understanding between the various stakeholders and the industrial cities.

The centre will also have a legal component, which aims to raise awareness on workers' rights and ensuring secure working conditions in the QIC. The legal component is vital, yet it is part of a bigger vision that is being created in
Sahab. This project was initiated by the core group, who are members of the local community.
ZENID aims to equip them with the needed skills to ensure ownership and therefore sustainability of the centre in the long run. Therefore, this model is not a one off project. ZENID aims to adapt this model to other areas in the Kingdom based on their local needs.

Other achievements of the Core groups include

Public transportation posed as a high priority for the residents of Wahadneh area in Ajloun, where the population amounts to 5,000 residents. The core group discovered that there were no busses from the Wahadneh area to the main services in Ajloun, approximately 20 kms away. The lack of public transportation hinders access to education, employment, health and social services. The women group met with the transportation directorate and resulted with activating a constant public bus service from Wahadneh area to Ajloun.
